Software veteran hired to steer company into new era of product expansion.
Enterprise quality and compliance management solutions provider Pilgrim Software Inc. has expanded its top-level executive team. The company recently hired Stanley Curtis as chief technology officer (CTO) and senior vice president of software engineering. Curtis has more than 20 years of experience overseeing the development of enterprise software and hardware solutions for diverse high-tech companies, including those in healthcare-related industries. He was hired to help Pilgrim Software expand its presence in the life sciences and contract services industries, according to executives.
“We believe Stanley’s vast experience and proven track record of success leading engineering organizations will prove very beneficial to Pilgrim Software, and his vision for Pilgrim’s long-term product strategy is fully in synch with our long-term corporate strategic plan as we move forward,” Pilgrim CEO Thierry Durand said. “We’re looking to accelerate the company’s expansion, and with his commitment to the future direction of Pilgrim’s solution offerings, Stanley is in a solid position to help fortify Pilgrim’s position as a global quality and compliance solution provider.”
“I’m excited to lead Pilgrim into its third decade, following what already has been an impressive era,” Curtis said. “I feel extremely proud to succeed Pilgrim co-founder Atulya Risal as CTO, and to take on the technical leadership of a company with such a solid product platform and a strong focus on both the customer and technology.”
Prior to joining Pilgrim, Curtis led the development of enterprise clinical and revenue cycle software for Homecare and Hospice as vice president of development at McKesson Provider Technologies in Springfield, Mo. He also was vice president of engineering for Kronos, a global leader in workforce management solutions, based in Chelmsford, Mass. Most recently, Curtis was senior vice president of product development at MTS Medication Technologies in St. Petersburg, Fla., where he developed automated medication adherence systems for institutional and retail pharmacies. Stanley holds a bachelor’s degree in physics from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Va., and attended the AEA/Stanford Executive Institute at Stanford University.
“We are pleased to welcome Stanley Curtis to Pilgrim, and under his guidance, we’re looking forward to developing and providing new technology solutions designed to help customers transform their enterprises into compliant and profitable businesses,” Pilgrim Board Chairman Philip Borden said. “We’d also like to thank Atulya Risal for his contribution to the establishment of Pilgrim and his leadership and technical guidance that has been so instrumental in taking the company to where it is today.”
Former CTO Risal, who led Pilgrim from its founding, will remain on the company’s 10-member board.
