BIOForward Seeks CEO for the First Time

BIOForward has begin a search for a CEO, after having decided to elevate the previously titled executive director position to a chief executive officer title in response to Wisconsin’s continued growth across the broad cross-section of life science specialties, including drug development, medical devices, research tools, biofuels, food and agriculture. The Madison-based, member driven, Wisconsin affiliate of the national Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) is looking for a candidate that has experience with change management, growing revenue and advancing a strategic agenda within a trade association, member cooperative or not for profit setting.

The new executive will be accountable to the board of directors. Board President Gayle Kirkpatrick, in conjunction with fellow BIOforward directors, has selected board members Joe Hammer, of GE Capital, and Bill Domann, of The Domann Organization, to co-chair the search committee efforts.

Founded in 1987 as the Wisconsin Biotechnology Association, BIOforward provides comprehensive support and solutions tailored to the needs of Wisconsin’s life science companies and institutions. The organization provides group purchasing savings, capital access, government affairs and advocacy, networking and best-practice sharing. BIOforward also supports the future of life science innovation through the organization’s work in science education, career development, and entrepreneurship. Members include life science companies, universities, nonprofits, and service providers.
