Moog Inc. has purchased a medical device manufacturer in Lithuania for $21 million in cash, the company said.

The East Aurora, N.Y.-based company will receive 100 percent of the stock for AITECS Medical UAB, which makes syringe-style infusion therapy pumps.

The move is an attempt to expand the company’s growing medical devices division, which already includes infusion feeding pumps, surgical hand pieces and ambulatory infusion therapy pumps, said Martin Berardi, president of Moog’s medical devices group.

“It’s basically deepening our participation in the medical devices marketplace,” Berardi said.

About  65 people work in the Lithuania facility, which will continue to make the therapy, Berardi said. There are no immediate plans to manufacture the devices in the United States, he said.
