CareFusion Completes Rowa Acquisition

$150 million-dollar deal finalized

San Diego, Calif.-based CareFusion Corporation has completed the acquisition of Rowa, a Germany-based company specializing in robotic medication storage and retrieval systems for retail and hospital pharmacies, for approximately $150 million in cash. The deal was first announced on July 5.

The Rowa acquisition is expected to impact earnings after the first year. According to a CareFusion press release, the acquisition should accelerate the growth of the Pyxis dispensing technologies in global retail and hospital pharmacies. Rowa’s main products enable high-density, high-speed storage and retrieval of prepackaged pharmaceutical inventory.

CareFusion plans to continue Rowa’s longstanding focus on retail pharmacy customers, while also targeting expansion within its core hospital customers.
