B&W Tek Unveils Raman Spectrometer/Computer Combination

B&W Tek, Inc. of Newark, DE has announced a portable Raman spectrometer with the addition of an on-board computer. Building on the popular MiniRam Raman Spectrometer system, the addition of the PDA-sized computer makes for an even smaller portable system for the rapid evaluation of solids and liquids and resolution of quality issues. Using a full Microsoft Windows XP operating system, programs such as Thermo’s Grams/AI, The Unscrambler by Camo and others can be run outside the laboratory. A reliable 785 nm excitation laser at 300 mW provides Raman shift spectra from 225-3,100 cm-1 for solids and liquids, usually without any sample preparation.
