Viasys Buys Hoffman Laboratories

Conshohocken, PA-based Viasys Healthcare has bought Chatsworth, CA-based Hoffman Laboratories, which develops sleep therapeutic products, for an undisclosed sum.

According to the Associated Press, Viasys CEO Randy Thurman said the purchase will help expand the medical-device company’s sleep diagnostics and therapy business, which was established earlier this year.

In July, Viasys bought Tiara Medical Systems Inc., an Oak Forest, IL, sleep-therapy company based whose products include continuous positive airway pressure masks, headgear, circuits and filters, for $24.3 million.
