Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics (SGPPL) has signed an agreement to acquire the assets of Consolidated Polymer Technologies (CPT) of Clearwater, FL.

The Aurora, OH-based subsidiary of Saint-Gobain of Paris, France plans to integrate the CPT business into its healthcare business unit, which is part of SGPPL’s fluid systems division. CPT is a privately owned manufacturer of thermoplastic elastomer tubing, resin, molded products and equipment.

Specific terms of the agreement were not disclosed. The acquisition is expected to be finalized in January.

“We are pleased by the prospect of welcoming Consolidated Polymer Technologies to Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics,” said SGPPL president John Crowe. “The C-Flex product line is very complementary to our Sani-tech, PharMed and Tygon product lines supplied to the biopharmaceutical and medical markets. This transaction will allow Saint-Gobain to strengthen our offerings to these important markets.”

When the transaction is completed, the C-Flex brand products will be marketed under the Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics name.
