Symmetry Medical Buys TNCO

Orthopedic implant and device maker Symmetry Medical Inc. said Tuesday it bought TNCO Inc., a specialty medical instrument maker, for $7 million in cash.

The Whitman, Mass.-based company reported 2006 revenue of about $7.5 million.

Symmetry Medical (nyse: SMA – news – people ), which employs nearly 2,000 workers, reported 2006 profit of $24.1 million on sales of $253.6 million. The company expects the deal to add slightly to earnings in 2007.

Shares of Symmetry Medical rose 16 cents to close at $16.50 on the New York Stock Exchange.
