Covidien is recalling one lot of ReliOn sterile, single-use, disposable, hypodermic syringes with permanently affixed hypodermic needles due to possible mislabeling.

Using these syringes may cause patients to take more than twice the intended dose, which may lead to serious health consequences or death, according to an FDA statement.

The 471,000 syringes, labeled U-40 insulin and U-100 insulin, may have been mixed in boxes during packaging. They were sold at Walmart and Sam’s Clubs stores between Aug. 1 and Oct. 8.
