BIT Analytical Instruments Acquires C2 Diagnostics

BIT Analytical Instruments, GmbH,  a German company, has acquired 100% shares of C2 Diagnostics of Montpellier, France, a leader in contract development, design, manufacture and support of custom instrumentation for the diagnostic OEM industry – with a specialty in hematology.

BIT Analytical Instruments has announced that, as of December 16, 2010, it acquired 100% shares of C2 Diagnostics (C2D), a France-based company specializing in contract development, design, manufacture and support of custom instrumentation for the OEM diagnostic industry.  Founded in 2002, C2 Diagnostics currently employs a staff of 28 with expertise in mechanics, optics, software, electronics, fluidics and chemistry and holds several in-vitro diagnostics (IVD) patents. The company has its own 10,000 square foot facility that is certified ISO 9001, ISO 13485, is registered by the FDA as a contract manufacturer according to the QS 21 CFR 820 and provides turnkey services in engineering development, industrialization and production.

Over the past eight years, C2D has delivered and sold over 10,000 instruments to small and midsize diagnostic laboratory customers worldwide. The founders have spent over 30 years in the diagnostic industry and C2D is the second company they have established. Their first company was successfully sold to a large international corporation several years ago.

C2D is currently focused on hematology application which has an end-user segment with a growing market size. The company’s product offering is a family of over 10 models of proprietary, compact, easy to operate, robust and cost efficient (consumption, durability, service) diagnostic instruments. These are sold to a number of OEM companies that brand and sell it under their own names in over 100 countries worldwide
