New High-Flow Medical Venting Product From Gore

W. L. Gore & Associates recently released the 5 µm GORE™ Medical Membrane specifically designed for venting applications requiring extremely high airflow as well as liquid resistance.

To contain bulk liquids while allowing for the free exchange of airflow, the new 5 µm GORE™ Medical Membrane uses a two-layer laminate combining a hydrophobic expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE) membrane with a non-woven membrane support. GORE™ Medical Membranes are available in a variety of product forms that can be incorporated into existing or new designs, and they are easily processed in automated manufacturing environments. The construction of the membrane itself provides the highest available protection for healthcare workers, patients and equipment.

GORE™ Medical Membranes are suitable for a wide array of venting applications, such as intravenous air elimination, ostomy pouch venting and urine collection.
