Bill DeHaven of Sellersville, Pa., has joined Laboratory Testing Inc. (LTI) as its new business development sales manager. In this position, DeHaven will be responsible for creating new business opportunities and growing LTI’s customer base.
DeHaven’s position recently was added by LTI to improve the company’s response to customer inquiries while also freeing up customer service/sales reps to focus on serving current clients. Previously, sales and service to new and existing customers were handled by the same group of employees. “We always strive for excellence in service and building a stronger support team will allow us to go on meeting our customers’ needs as LTI continues to grow,” said Mike Hiller, marketing/new business development director and third-generation member of the family-run business.
DeHaven worked for Belgian firm ArcelorMittal S.A. for 17 years in various sales positions, overseeing carbon and alloy steel plate and flat-rolled products. Most recently, he headed the sales and marketing team, which handled account service, outside sales, product development and pricing. His national customer base was comprised of small businesses and major companies in the ship building, power generation, bridge and military industries.
DeHaven received a marketing degree from Bloomsburg University in Pennsylvania, and earned an MBA in management from West Virginia University.
Headquartered in Hatfield, Pa., Laboratory Testing is a family-owned independent testing and metrology laboratory. It offers materials testing and analysis services including mechanical, chemical, metallurgical and corrosion testing, nondestructive testing, root cause failure analysis, as well as calibration services, dimensional inspection, test specimen machining and certified reporting of results.
The lab specializes in metal and polymer testing but also analyzes powdered metals, ores, ferroalloys, composites and ceramics. LTI is accredited by PRI/Nadcap in materials and nondestructive testing and accredited by A2LA to ANS/ISO/IEC 17025 for mechanical, metallurgical and chemical testing, dimensional inspection and calibration services. LTI Metrology, a division of Laboratory Testing Inc., provides dimensional inspection and NIST-traceable calibration services for measuring hand tools, masters and an array of measuring instruments and equipment.
