Charter Signing Aligns Packaging, Sterilization, Laboratory Capabilities

The West Coast Device Alliance aims to unite independent companies that provide capabilities to medical device manufactures for more efficient service.

On Thursday, Feb. 8, at the MD&M West show in Anaheim, Calif., representatives from five companies that serve medical device manufacturers with capabilities including sterilization, device packaging, and testing signed a charter agreement that aligns the firms to work in a collaborative fashion to best serve customers.
 
Representing the charter companies at the signing were Roy Morgan, President and CEO of Eagle Medical; Nora Crivello, CEO of WESTPAK; Michael Spalding, CEO of Pacific BioLabs; Jeff Sauter, Director of Business Development at SteriTek; and Brant Gard, President and CEO of Blue Line Sterilization.
 
Specifically, the Charter states:
 

West Coast Device Alliance Charter

 
Mission and Vision, The West Coast Device Alliance [WCDA] is an affiliation of independent but unified service providers to the life sciences and medical device industries. The WCDA will provide roadmaps to medical device, biopharma, and biotech manufacturers seeking the most efficient path through the outsourcing landscape. WCDA members will collaborate and share information for four main purposes:
 
  1. To achieve efficient and accurate quoting;
  2. To provide a better understanding to our customer(s) onboarding requirements and expectations;
  3. To facilitate continuous improvement of process, with the fundamental goal of competing and winning new business, while retaining autonomy in an industry that is continuously consolidating; and
  4. To market the WCDA and co-market each company’s services and capabilities.
 
Objectives, Optimal speed-to-market is achieved through effective collaboration with all WCCDA Members involved. For every new project, WCDA will provide a customized “Outsourcing Roadmap” as well as a detailed “Readiness Checklist(s).” The Outsourcing Roadmap defines the role and responsibility of each Member company in a new project. The Readiness Checklist(s) supports the customer’s pre-commercialization efforts and certifies that their project has met specific criteria to ensure a well-coordinated launch.
 
Through mutual sponsorship of cross-training between WCDA Member Companies, in customer readiness, expectation setting, and expert preparation “know-how” introductory information sharing, WCDA offers critical advantage-making services, saving our customers time and money. By choosing to work with the WCDA Member Companies, customers solidify their reputation with shareholders, and build credibility in the marketplace.
