This forms part of the company’s aim to reduce patient and healthcare provider’s reliance on plastic catheters, which are causing a major environmental impact.

Self-catheterization experts Hunter Urology have announced the world’s first totally dissolvable female catheter in a bid to reduce plastic pollution. Hunter Urology has worked in partnership to develop a unique catheter that completely dissolves in water after just 30 to 60 minutes. This forms part of the company’s aim to reduce patient and healthcare provider’s reliance on plastic catheters, which are causing a major environmental impact.

The catheter, named EmtevaPure, is the very first of its kind. Not only does it help users by featuring an easy grip handle for clean insertion and removal and a unique cap which allows the user to drain away at their convenience, but it also helps the environment. Since it completely dissolves, the catheter does not need to contribute to landfill waste or ocean pollution. It can simply be dissolved and disposed of.

Furthermore, Hunter Urology has designed an eco-friendly box and packaging, making them entirely recyclable and thus further helping the planet.

Gary Hunter, founder, said “We’re delighted to announce this product after many months of hard work designing, testing, and developing the product. Hunter Urology is passionate about controlling our impact on the environment, particularly when creating something that is so vital to so many people.”

He added, “Emtevapure is a complete world first and has the potential to really make a difference to our eco footprint. Users can benefit from the same great features that we have previously developed, but now they can do so without harming the environment.”

Hunter Urology has a wide range of continence care products to suit a variety of needs. You can find out more about Hunter Urology’s dissolvable, eco-friendly Emtevapure catheter by visiting www.hunterurology.com
