Greetings from Medica 2018. Some folks have been here for a really long time. Time again for a look at what you (and this poor soul) may have missed.

Pediatric medicine is in short supply and greater innovation is necessary to provide the appropriate degree of healthcare needed to treat these younger (and smaller) patients. New neonatal technologies are a welcome sight for those who serve this demographic.

The coupling at Medica of medical device manufacturers and the physicians who use these technologies makes for a perfect opportunity to provide training on new systems or to showcase innovative features to doctors to give them hands-on experience in trying the equipment out.

The Wearable Technologies booth always offers the promise of interesting devices to discover. Housed in Hall 15, it’s become a perennial favorite for the visiting MPO editors. The line-up of companies showcasing their technology in the stand is constantly changing from year to year, helping to maintain its status as a “must see” at Medica.

Diagnostic imaging quality continues to improve and the latest and greatest are typically found within the halls of Medica. One simply need explore the Halls of 9 through 14 to find advanced, high quality imaging equipment on display.

Male and female “patients” are employed to help illustrate how many of the medical device technologies are used in a type of simulated clinical application. Other companies take a somewhat different approach.

Reception style events take place seemingly throughout Medica. These functions allow exhibitors and attendees alike to network and discuss the highlights of their days while attending the show. Some events require an invitation, while others are open to anyone in attendance.
