In’Tech Medical SAS, a developer and contract manufacturer of orthopedic surgical instruments, has acquired Turner Medical Inc.
According to officials with In’Tech, the acquisition of Turner Medical improves In’Tech’s manufacturing expertise, expands its U.S. business and global capacity, and adds the manufacturing of orthopedic implants to its core business. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
Founded in France in 2000, In’Tech Medical is a privately held company that manufactures orthopedic surgical instruments and implants. Prior to the acquisition, the company employed 300, and had offices and production facilities in Europe and the United States. The company’s U.S. site is in Memphis, Tenn.
“In’Tech Medical’s leadership in contract manufacturing and orthopedic instrument design is greatly enhanced with the addition of Turner Medical,” said Laurent Pruvost, president of In’Tech Medical. “...what I most value is the talent Turner Medical has developed over the past 35 years. The management’s know-how, combined with that of In’Tech Medical’s, turns the group into a creative engineering and problem solving powerhouse.”
“Merging with In’Tech Medical allows Turner Medical to further develop and provide the services that are most beneficial to our clients, both in the US and internationally,” said Bill Turner, president.
In’Tech Medical’s 2015 consolidated sales forecast is now $65 million, equally balanced between Europe and the United States. As a wholly owned subsidiary of In’Tech Medical, Turner Medical will continue to operate out of its headquarters in Athens, Ala., under its current name, becoming the U.S. platform for the newly formed group.
