Secant Medical has expanded its executive team. The company recently named Dawn Porter Eringis as vice president of business development and marketing. She previously was vice president of commercialization and scientific affairs at PolyMedix Inc., a biotechnology company she co-founded in 2002. In addition to overseeing the implementation of new business development and marketing programs, Eringis will manage strategic licensing opportunities and academic business partnerships for Secant Medical.
“Dawn’s extensive industry knowledge will play a key role in ensuring that we maintain a forward momentum in our commitment to developing and commercializing advanced biomaterial technology platforms,” President Jeff Robertson said. “Her leadership will help us continue to build a strong R&D pipeline while also maintaining our focus on business partnerships with clients and academia.”
Eringis also has held positions at Pfizer Inc., Johnson & Johnson-Merck, Guilford Pharmaceuticals Inc., the American Red Cross and Locus Pharmaceuticals Inc. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from the Wharton School in Philadelphia, Pa.
