Plainville, Conn.-based Gems Sensors & Controls now includes the new CAP-100 Series capacitive liquid level sensors in its device offering. The capacitive level sensor for non-contact detection of challenging fluids is designed to sense liquid levels accurately through the walls of a various bottle types including plastic, glass and fiberglass. According to the company, these compact sensors ideally are suited for medical applications such as waste, reagent, buffer or diluent as well as dark, sticky or viscous fluids, and are especially useful for vessels containing biohazardous liquids as the level monitoring is conducted from outside the sealed container. The CAP-100 Series is a non-contact and non-intrusive sensor that senses from outside non-metallic reservoirs or bottles with wall thicknesses to 0.39 inches (10 mm) thick without attaching the bottle. The sensor supports aqueous or non-aqueous liquid detection, with a choice of wet- or dry-sink switch actuation. They are available in both aqueous and non-aqueous versions and can be delivered with factory-preset sensitivity for quick installation for OEM orders. They also may be used as a proximity sensor to detect the presence of solids.
Gems Sensors & Controls makes liquid level, flow, and pressure sensors; solid-state relays and barriers; liquid and pneumatic miniature solenoid valves; and pre-assembled fluidic systems.
