ISO Certifications
• Celestica Inc.’s facility in Oradea, Romania, has achieved ISO 13485 certification. This certifies that the company has an internationally recognized quality management system for the manufacture of medical devices. “This is an important milestone for Celestica as we extend our medical device manufacturing and engineering services in Europe, strengthening Celestica’s global supply chain network,” said Kevin Walsh, vice president of Celestica HealthTech. The Romania facility is one of Celestica’s ISO 13485-certified centers of excellence for medical manufacturing, joining Portland, Ore.; San Jose, Calif.; Galway, Ireland; Valencia, Spain; Suzhou, China; Johor Bahru, Malaysia; and Serangoon, Singapore. Celestica offers start-to-finish services for medical device development. Celestica is headquartered in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
• Woburn, Mass.-based Boston Centerless has been awarded the ISO 13485 certification. The company is a materials supplier of precision ground bars. “ISO 13485 certification complements our existing ISO 9001:2008 and AS9100 certifications—reassuring our customers that Boston Centerless works to meet or exceed internationally recognized quality benchmarks in one of the most highly regulated industries in the world,” said Dave Mersereau, vice president of operations. Boston Centerless supplies precision ground bar materials for close tolerance machining applications to a variety of industries. The company also provides grinding services for customer-supplied material and components as well as manufactures ultra-precise gages.
• Irvine, Calif.-based Futek Advanced Sensor Technology Inc. has earned the ISO 13485:2012 certification. The company already holds the ISO 9001:2008 for general quality management systems and ISO 17025:2005 for competence in testing and calibration. Futek manufactures load cells, force sensors, torque sensors, pressure sensors, signal conditioners, digital displays and portable sensor verification/calibration systems using strain gauge and thin film technology.
