DG Medical, a contract manufacturer based in Centerville, Ohio, specializing in plastic molding of medical devices, has installed new equipment in its advanced Class 10,000 clean room. The centerpiece of the installation is a 35-ton injection press with fully automated robotics and the ability to use scientific molding technology. Coupled with other larger-ton press options already in place, the improved clean room is intended to allow DG Medical to offer an expanded range of options in molding medical devices for customers while meeting all regulatory standards.
“We understand the importance of manufacturing consistent, quality parts for our customers,” said Mike Sieron, president and CEO of DG Medical. “So we have invested heavily in our cleanroom facility by choosing state-of-the-art molding equipment and mold monitoring technology. As a full-service contract manufacturer, the same priority has also been given to equipping our assembly and packaging areas.”
Along with the new press, DG Medical has invested in equipment for assembly automation and secondary operations including a robotic gluing machine, packaging equipment consisting of a heat sealer, auto bagger, and burst test equipment. The investment in new molding and assembly equipment is part of the company’s strategy to expand its footprint in the medical device manufacturing industry as a fully integrated contract manufacturer.
DG Medical offers turnkey contract manufacturing services, including injection molding, design for manufacturing (DFM) engineering services, expertise in material selection, rapid prototyping, component assembly and packaging, and sterilization management.
