Thermogenesis Corporation has named Dan T. Bessey its new chief financial officer (CFO). The Rancho Cordova, Calif.-based company makes automated blood processing systems and disposable products for the manufacture, preservation and delivery of cell and tissue therapy products.
Bessey has more than 20 years of finance and accounting experience. Most recently, he was vice president and CFO of Surewest Communications, a publicly traded telecommunications company that merged with Consolidated Communications in mid-2012. Bessey joined Surewest in 1995 and held several senior finance management positions including director of corporate finance, controller, and vice president of finance, before being named CFO in 2008. Prior to joining Surewest, Bessey was associated with Ernst & Young LLP. A certified public accountant, he holds a B.S. in Business Administration/Accountancy from California State University, Sacramento.
