Schaumburg, IL-based Herrmann Ultrasonics has introduced a new tabletop rotary indexing unit that provides a semi-automatic, compact solution for smaller-sized, moderate volume applications. The self-contained unit integrates with Herrmann’s DIALOG digital control or MPC(+) digital systems at all frequency and power levels. The indexer features a 22” diameter aluminum dial plate and can be configured as a two, four, six or eight position indexer. Rotation velocity is freely adjustable. Smart part tracking ensures that suspect parts are not confused with good parts. Clear Plexiglas safety guarding allows viewing during the welding process. An optional sound enclosure can replace the Plexiglas guard, if required. Hinged entry and exit doors feature safety sensors that immediately stop the indexer from rotating in the event of part misloading. The indexer can operate in the automatic “run” mode, where indexing is accomplished based on a timer, or in the “jog” mode, where indexing is accomplished by the operator activating a toggle switch.
