Millipore’s Disposable TFF Assemblies Increase Speed, FlexibilityThe new Mobius disposable TFF assemblies from Billerica, MA-based Millipore Corporation offer flexible, self-contained solutions that reduce validation efforts, increase process speed and mitigate risks. Incorporated with Millipore’s Pellicon cassettes, these assemblies are a complete, self-contained TFF flow path consisting of process container, tubing, connectors and innovative disposable cassette manifolds that eliminate fluid contact from any reusable components. The disposable assembly can be integrated into a complete TFF system that includes in-line monitors, process pump, filter cassettes and holder, and optional controls and instrumentation. The assemblies are manufactured, assembled and validated prior to shipment, eliminating the need for customers to validate multiple products from multiple suppliers. There is no need for system and cassette cleaning, which can help reduce downtime between production runs; minimize validation efforts, costs and paperwork; and reduce development time, thus improving speed to market. Sapphire Offers Savings With Pump-Valve ModuleIn an effort to meet device manufacturers’ needs for more reliability and better support, Sapphire Engineering, Inc. has rolled out its complete Pump and Valve Module (PVM) incorporating its integrated piston and valve. The compact PVM is 100% compatible with the Cavro XP-3000 syringe pump, but uses a robust, direct-drive leadscrew technology instead of belts and pulleys. The company reported that this integrated piston/valve will enable the unit to last up to 20 times longer than traditional syringe/valve combinations with no routine maintenance—offering significant cost savings in the long run. Humphrey Introduces Dual-Zone GEN2 System Module With Independent Intelligent ControlKalamazoo, MI-based Humphrey Products has introduced a money saver with its new Dual-Zone GEN2 System that incorporates two pneumatic valves and its Independent Intelligent Control into a single module. Instead of a central computer or PLC, each GEN2 valve module contains its own on-board programmed logic to control both valves independently. The valve module communicates directly with other modules, and makes independent decisions based on its own individual program instructions. The system was designed for use on pneumatically powered accumulation conveyors, but the technology can be applied to non-pneumatic conveyor systems, as well as a range of sequential and proportional control applications in other industries. The quick-connect design, called Plug & Run technology, makes installation easy by reducing assembly time. Simple menu-driven programming enables users to select options to improve system productivity, reduce energy costs and, if desired, to reconfigure the entire system without reprogramming. Parker/Page Intl. Hose Debuts PEEK HosesFort Worth, TX-based Parker/Page International Hose has launched its latest offering, the PEEK Reinforced Convoluted Hoses, for use in applications in which abrasion or handling high temperatures is critical to success. These hoses differ from braided options such as Polypropylene or Kynar because they offer excellent abrasion resistance and operate in temperatures up to 500ºF/260ºC. Their extremely low coefficient of friction also makes them ideal for applications requiring the hose to snake through a corrosive environment. Typical applications are high temp cabling, underground cables and any application with confines that require a lightweight hose to handle the load of a heavy-duty hose. PEEK reinforced assemblies are available with a PTFE or PEEK convoluted lining in sizes of 1/2, 3/4, 1, 1-1/4, 1-1/2 and 2 inches. In PTFE, static dissipative and conductive lined assemblies can be provided upon request. More info: (800) 847-7280; www.pageintl.com |
