Interface Catheter Solutions, based in Laguna Niguel, Calif., now will offer services beyong high-quality balloon tubing to include full-service, custom medical extrusion.
In preparation for this new service, Interface has built a new clean room, added additional extrusion equipment and assembled a dedicated and experienced extrusion team, the company reported.
The extrusion team will be led by industry veteran, Fernando Lopez, who recently joined the firm as director of Extrusion. Interface now offers single-lumen, multi-lumen, striping and multilayer co-extrusion, bump, and lead tubing. Expanded capabilities also include a broader range of materials, and a wider variety of lumen shapes, sizes and tubing colors.
“Our many years of experience in balloon catheter manufacturing gives us the expertise to expand our extrusion product offerings and provide a more all-inclusive development and manufacturing service," said Gary Curtis, president and CEO of Interface. “Interface will deliver the same high value and quality to full-service catheter extrusion that our balloon tubing customers have come to expect."
Interface has focused on the balloon catheter market since 1995. The company has created more than 2,000 balloon designs, and offers balloon design and development, balloon contract manufacturing, full-line custom medical extrusion, plus a line of balloon catheter production and testing equipment. Interface is ISO 13485:2003 certified and operates multiple class 100,000 (ISO Class 8) clean rooms in three facilities.
