There’s at least one resolution that should be relatively easy for executives at Zeus Inc. to fulfill this year: processing advanced polymers such as Aeos ePTFE.
The Orangeburg, S.C.-based tubing manufacturer has expanded its capabilities to include the processing of high-performance advanced polymers. The expansion enables the firm to process the material in a more controlled environment and keep in compliance with more stringent regulatory standards.
“Medical regulatory bodies are raising the bar on standards for devices in the industry and Zeus is committed to meeting this challenge,” Bob Jennings, Zeus vice president of sales and marketing, said in a prepared statement. “The processing of these advanced materials in a tightly controlled environment ensures that customer products meet the strictest regulatory requirements in the medical device industry.”
Zeus has a Class 7 certified 5,000-square-foot biomaterials facility that is used for the extrusion, analysis and characterization of bioabsorbable polymers and other advanced materials. The latest Class 7 expansion boosts the company’s ability to provide customers with a quick way to market their products. Zeus has a total of 10,000 square feet of Class 7 certified manufacturing space.
“Zeus provides support from ideation all the way to polymer characterization for medical device companies,” said Bob Ballard, vice president, Research and Strategic Business Development. “In addition to our ability to process and extrude polymers in a Class 7 environment, we also have a dedicated analytical laboratory that allows us to provide real-time analysis and characterization of polymers while being manufactured.”
Zeus maintains facilities in South Carolina, Raritan, N.J., Ireland and China.
