AI Nexus Healthcare is teaming up with SensorsCall to improve long-distance home monitoring for the elderly.
Specifically, AI Nexus Healthcare is integrating its signature mia care platform with SensorsCall’s CareAlert product—a home monitoring system that allows long-distance caregivers to keep track of seniors’ environments, activities, and overall well-being.
“We are delighted to be integrating our mia care platform with such a well established home monitoring technology," AI Nexus Healthcare Founder/CEO Faramarz Farhoodi said. "In this increasingly digital age, the relationship between technology and care is improving by the day and we are confident this collaboration will serve to support families across the U.S. with the process of healthy aging. At AI Nexus Healthcare, we have combined AI with the expertise of a team of medical doctors, enabling our mia care product to help predict and support the prevention of adverse health events—which is set to offer another layer of reassurance to SensorCall’s current technology.”
The partnership is occurring as America's aging population is increasing demand for comprehensive remote monitoring systems—with more people becoming a caregiver to an elderly parent and choosing between aging in place and assisted living.
Aging in place, when the individual is fit and well enough to do so, can help uphold independence and privacy and generally costs less than an assisted living or nursing facility. Technology solutions such as CareAlert and mia care aim to help families and ensure round-the-clock peace of mind through leading technology support.
Through analyzing multiple sources of biometric and health data, mia care gives family members actionable, timely information, whilst using continual learning to understand and adapt to every individual’s unique wellness challenges. This will ultimately keep the elderly healthier and reduce costs associated with unnecessary adverse events. mia is an app that integrates and interprets multiple data points from different devices (vitals, lifestyle, preexisting medical conditions) and provides tailored actionable recommendations for each user, helping prevent illness. mia learns what is "normal" is designed to detect anything abnormal at any time. mia is about prevention and early warning.
SensorsCall's CareAlert smart night lights learn a person's daily routines and alerts care providers when unusual behavior or activity happens. CareAlert communicates in real-time without depending on phones. It enables caregivers to send or schedule medication reminders with a custom pre-recorded voice for medicines and dosage. CareAlert is simply plugged into each room and looks just like a nightlight.
“We set our goal to develop a powerful fusion of sensors in CareAlert to collect meaningful information without cameras or wearables and a minimum number of sensor placement” SensorsCall Founder Fereydoun Taslimi said, “then, we build a powerful edge-based ML inference engine to use data from various sensors to infer actions and alert caregivers on anomalies. We also added much-needed features such as voice calls that can be answered from anywhere within the audio range without relying on the loved ones’ phones; voice reminders that the caregivers can schedule in their voice for medication or other events. CareAlert will also act as a battery-powered emergency light during a power outage.”
Based in Champaign, Ill., AI Nexus Healthcare is creating a new generation of smart health and wellness applications powered by cognitive artificial intelligence (AI). Its mia platform is comprised of a comprehensive suite of applications designed to provide real-time decision support to healthcare professionals. By taking insights from machine learning (the data, facts and figures from monitoring devices) and combining it with the input of dozens of medical experts in dozens of health disciplines, mia can predict the likelihood of adverse health events even before symptoms are present and provide real time recommendations to help prevent them.
