Recently appointed Moderna CFO Jorge Gomez, who left Dentsply Sirona to join the biotech company just days ago, has left from Moderna effective immediately. Gomez served as Dentsply Sirona’s CFO from August 2019 to May 6 of this year.
Moderna’s recently retired CFO David Meline will continue in his role as of May 11 while the company reopens its search for a new finance chief.
The announcement follows the May 10 public disclosure by Dentsply Sirona of its ongoing internal investigation into certain financial reporting matters. The company, as a result, has not yet finalized financial statements for the first quarter of 2022.
Moderna noted that Gomez will be afforded certain benefits under the firm’s amended severance plan, including a year’s salary of $700,000. He will forfeit his signing bonus, eligibility for relocation reimbursements, bonus eligibility, and eligibility for new hire equity awards.
Dentsply Sirona announced termination of its former CEO Don Casey two days before Gomez was announced as Moderna's new finance chief.
