Custom catheter solutions manufacturer VitalPath has acquired Modern Catheter Technologies (ModernCath), an advanced catheter delivery systems manufacturer based in Maplewood, Minn.
The acquisition increases VitalPath’s footprint to over 80,000 square feet of manufacturing space, including 35,000 square feet of ISO 7 and 8 cleanroom space. The company can now provide additional expertise in the key neurovascular and electrophysiology markets—particularly in microcatheters and peripheral vascular applications.
“ModernCath is a strategic addition to expand and scale the VitalPath platform,” VitalPath CEO Randall Sword told the press. “ModernCath’s strength in the neurovascular and electrophysiology markets complements VitalPath’s expertise in the structural heart and peripheral markets. And their exceptional extrusion capabilities will be a valuable addition to our strength in laser processing technologies and finished device manufacturing.”
