Hologic’s Panther Trax, the latest addition to its Panther Scalable Solutions (PSS) portfolio, is now available in a number of countries and regions. PSS products physically link multiple Panther instruments into a single, powerful workcell to boost testing volumes.
Panther Trax was listed as a Class I medical device by the FDA, CE marked in Europe, and was also released in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
“Clinical laboratories have performed heroically, meeting unprecedented demand for close to two years now due to the COVID-19 pandemic,” Kevin Thornal, president of Hologic’s Diagnostic Solutions Division told the press. “It is the job of manufacturers like Hologic to continue to innovate and enable our lab partners to accomplish more with less, ensuring they manage their workloads while responding to further potential surges in COVID testing.”
The Panther System was first launched in Europe in 2010. Its broad assay menu includes tests for women’s health, STIs, respiratory health, viral load, COVID-19 testing, and Open Access functionality for lab-developed tests. Panther Trax lets labs customize configuration to meet space constraints and minimize facility costs.
