Cardiology and remote patient monitoring firm Qardio has named Mike Alvarez as its new president and CEO. Alvarez comes from Medtronic, where he served as VP of U.S. sales for Cardiovascular Diagnostics and Services, He also served in various sales leadership positions in Medtronic’s Cardiac Rhythm and Heart Failure Management business.
“On behalf of the Board of Directors and the entire company, we are thrilled to welcome Mike to the team,” Luca Tassan, chairman of Qardio’s Board of Directors told the press. “His leadership, knowledge of the industry, and proven commercial track record in the cardiac monitoring space will be critical as we continue to deliver on Qardio’s mission to transform cardiac care for physicians and their patients with simple and effective remote patient monitoring solutions.”
Qardio’s 4G and Bluetooth-enabled products integrate with electronic medical record systems through a dashboard so physicians can monitor at-risk, chronically ill patients. The company recently launched the QardioCore continuous ambulatory ECG device and QardioDirect end-to-end remote monitoring and telehealth service.
