Hospitals and health systems looking to establish brand dominance, competitive distinction and clinical excellence in diabetes care can turn to a team of experts at Glytec dedicated to helping facilitate full adoption of best practices.
“With our new team, we’re delivering a very robust and broad array of services that address diabetes care and glycemic management at all levels, from the bedside to the c-suite,” said Raymie McFarland, vice president of Quality Initiatives at Glytec. “The programs we’re offering are designed not only to optimize the patient and the provider experience, but also to engage senior leadership on improvements in clinical and financial outcomes.”
Glytec’s eGlycemic Management System, a cloud-hosted, U.S. Food and Drug Administration-cleared software-as-a-medical device, is utilized by local and regional health systems throughout the country for insulin therapy optimization. The proprietary solution is proven to reduce severe hypoglycemia as much as 99.8 percent, 30-day readmissions as much as 68 percent, and average lengths of stay as much as 3.2 days. It is also proven to produce cost savings as high as $20,000 per licensed bed.
The company has directed many successful transitions from outdated practices using sliding-scale insulin to best practices using basal-bolus-correction insulin, as recommended by the American Diabetes Association, American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, Society of Hospital Medicine and other authoritative sources.
“The results our clients have seen are really the combined product of our technology plus our expertise,” said McFarland. “We’re not the typical vendor. We don’t just install software, train users and leave. We partner with our clients long-term, guiding and supporting them through the myriad challenges associated with clinical practice change.”
