Sonex Health, creator of the SX-One MicroKnife with Meerkat Technology, has forged a co-marketing agreement with Samsung NeuroLogica Corporation, the healthcare subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. Under the agreement, the two companies will promote the importance of using high-quality ultrasound imaging during micro-invasive procedures to optimize outcomes, enhance the patient experience and drive practice efficiencies.
“We are excited to partner with Sonex Health to deliver treatment solutions that result in better outcomes with improved efficiency,” said Philip Sullivan, president and CEO of Samsung NeuroLogica. “Using our exquisite image quality in combination with Sonex Health’s elegant techniques to reduce surgical trauma, we can impact the lives of those who suffer debilitating pain and get them relief much faster.”
The SX-One MicroKnife enables micro-invasive carpal tunnel release (CTR) through a micro-incision that is up to five times smaller than the incision made during traditional CTR surgeries1—an incision so small, it can be closed with an adhesive bandage or strip. High-quality musculoskeletal ultrasound imaging is a key component for this procedure. Ultrasound guidance allows real-time visualization of the surrounding critical anatomy in relationship to the device during this procedure, helping protect patient anatomy and promoting rapid recovery.2,3
“By refining, simplifying and thinking differently, we have created a better way to treat patients suffering with carpal tunnel syndrome. Using the SX-One MicroKnife with ultrasound guidance may result in a faster and easier recovery for patients, as well as overall reduced costs,” said Darryl Barnes, M.D., CEO and co-founder of Sonex Health. “We believe that this partnership with Samsung NeuroLogica, a leader in high-quality ultrasound imaging, will significantly contribute to an enhanced quality of life for millions of people.”
Sonex Health is a medical device company created by physicians and healthcare leaders at Mayo Clinic with expertise in ultrasound imaging, ultrasound-guided micro-incision interventional procedures, and health care administration. The company is at the leading edge of micro-invasive surgical procedures that can be performed cost-effectively in an office or ambulatory surgery center setting. Sonex Health is focused on the safe, rapid treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome, a condition that affects 12 million Americans each year and is one of the leading causes of lost productivity in the economy.
Sonex Health is located in Rochester, Minn.
