Scapa Healthcare, a trusted strategic outsource partner of skin-friendly, turnkey solutions, announced the acquisition of Dallas, Texas-based BioMed Laboratories. BioMed is a leading business-to-business developer and manufacturer of topical skin care solutions for advanced wound care, ostomy, and consumer wellness markets.
Serving similar customer bases, BioMed is Scapa Healthcare’s first adjacent platform. The acquisition broadens Scapa’s offerings beyond adhesive-based solutions to now include complementary skin care offerings such as tubed hydrogel, wound cleansers, moisturizers, and more. BioMed’s portfolio of products includes gels, creams, lotions, liquids, powders and hot fill waxes.
The addition of BioMed strengthens Scapa Healthcare’s offerings to its customers in the advanced wound care and ostomy markets, and expands market accessibility within consumer wellness segments such as OTC, first aid, and health and beauty.
“At Scapa Healthcare, we remain committed to being the trusted strategic outsource partner of choice for our customers,” said Joe Davin, president Scapa Healthcare. “The acquisition of BioMed is in line with our continued growth strategy. We continue to expand our capabilities and product offerings while maintaining the level of excellence our partners expect.”
BioMed’s quality system is certified to ISO 13485 standards, and complies with FDA cGMP, Health Canada and EU regulatory requirements.
