Oncology Services International (OSI), an independent service organization for radiation oncology devices, has expanded its ISO certifications. Having held the ISO 9001 certification for many years, OSI has now added another level of quality assurance with the ISO 13485 certification.
ISO 9001 certification is recognized worldwide and is based on a number of quality management principles including a strong customer focus, support of top management, the process approach and continual improvement. ISO 13485, an additional quality certification specifically for the medical device industry, focuses on key quality aspects such as product safety, corrective and preventive action, and risk management.
“All of us at OSI are proud of this accomplishment and the important commitment to quality assurance and continual improvement that it represents,” stated Richard J. Hall, OSI president and CEO. “It reinforces our position as the leading alternative to the OEM for cost effective service and maintenance.”
Oncology Services International (OSI) is an independent provider of service for radiation therapy equipment, including linear accelerators and CT simulators. OSI's field engineers provide local, responsive service and maintenance across the United States and Mexico. OSI’s solutions, accompanied by its high-touch service, have positioned OSI as an alternative to the traditional reliance upon the manufacturer for extended service. Additionally, the company is a supplier of refurbished linear accelerators and parts. Its factory-tested Precision Certified radiation oncology medical devices have been sold and installed in more than 30 countries, and are supported by global distribution of linear accelerator parts.
Founded in 1985, OSI became a member of the Avante Health Solutions family of companies in 2016.
