OmniGuide Inc. a developer of patient-safety focused advanced surgical energy tools, has promoted Ajay Bhave to chief technology officer (CTO). As CTO, Bhave will guide the company’s long-term technology innovation strategy as well as oversee operations to support the company’s rapid product growth and production trajectory.
Bhave brings more than 32 years of experience in engineering and operations leadership primarily in the medical technology industry. Over the course of his career, Bhave has been instrumental in launching more than 30 advanced medical products, achieved over $30 million of cost savings by driving production efficiencies and has been involved with eight successful acquisitions. Most recently, Bhave served as the company's vice president of operations, implementing numerous manufacturing and quality initiatives as well as successfully driving the acquisition-based integration of ferromagnetic technology innovator Domain Surgical into the OmniGuide portfolio. Prior to OmniGuide, Bhave served as the corporate vice president of global engineering at Natus Medical Inc., where he was directly responsible for all aspects of new product development. Bhave has also held various positions of increasing responsibility across his 20 years of service within GE Healthcare.
“Ajay’s experience and expertise with directing a strategic vision into an achievable yet scalable format will greatly benefit OmniGuide’s core competencies and continued leadership in the advanced energy space. With a proven track record of leading successful product development across multiple cutting-edge medical technologies, Ajay’s leadership skills are uniquely suited for the role of chief technology officer,” CEO John T. Buhler said.
In addition to announcing Bhave’s promotion, OmniGuide recently launched an enhanced website designed with improved navigation and functionality to enable end users to learn more about the company’s product offerings, including the electrically silent capabilities and patient safety benefits of the Domain Surgical FMwand. Furthermore, the new site includes a medical education platform, which features contemporary digital mediums to promote the compelling clinical evidence supporting OmniGuide’s CO2 laser and emerging ferromagnetic technology offerings.
OmniGuide is a patient safety-focused medical technology innovator, providing a portfolio of advanced energy surgical tools to benefit clinicians and their patients. The company’s technologies deliver energy in a precise and electrically silent manner, resulting in the preservation of healthy tissue. A developer of flexible fiber CO2 laser technology, the company offers a range of products designed to enhance surgical accuracy, access and control for minimally invasive surgery, laparoscopy and robotic-assisted surgery. Domain Surgical, by OmniGuide Inc., provides a patented ferromagnetic technology designed to provide safety and predictability in select surgical procedures that require cutting, coagulating and sealing of tissue.
