ARC Devices Ltd., developer of digital, non-touch thermometry, today announced the appointment of Mark Haig Khachaturian, PhD, as Chief Technology Officer (CTO), effective immediately. Dr. Khachaturian will lead the design and development of multiple connected non-touch and light-touch vital sign measurement technologies aimed at improving the safety, reducing the cost and increasing the accessibility of health monitoring in the hospital and at home.
"As a partner of ARC for more than two years, Mark has already played an integral role in developing our patented, non-invasive sensor algorithms and technologies," said Irwin Gross, founder and CEO, ARC Devices. "Mark's strong track record designing and developing cutting-edge medical devices will be invaluable to continuing to propel innovation at ARC Devices."
Dr. Khachaturian was previously the Vice President of R&D at ABT Molecular Imaging, where he led the development of a small compact automated radiopharmaceutical production system for F-18 and C-11 based radio-pharmaceuticals. Prior to ABT, Dr. Khachaturian held various positions at GE Healthcare, where he led a team of more than 130 engineers to design and manufacture the Signa PET/MRI system.
"ARC Devices' technology is uniquely positioned to transform healthcare by allowing physicians and healthcare professionals to monitor patients' health remotely and accurately, with the ability to predict major health events before they happen," said Dr. Khachaturian. "I am excited to join the ARC team to continue to expand its technology and change the healthcare industry for the better."
Dr. Khachaturian received his PhD in Nuclear Science and Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) with a focus on medical imaging. He received his Bachelors of Science in Nuclear Engineering and Engineering Physics with a focus on radiation detection and measurement from the University of Michigan.
