Vygon, a specialist disposable medical devices firm, has added to its executive team.
The company recently appointed John Yates as vice-president for Central, Northern and Eastern Europe and named him to the organization’s executive committee.
Yates will manage the Central, Northern and Eastern Europe region, which extends from Germany to Russia and also includes Greece, Cyprus, Scandinavia, Switzerland, Ireland and the Benelux countries.
His role will cover management and commercial policy in this region of Europe in line with the firm's strategy. In addition, Yates will represent the subsidiaries and distributors in this area to the company’s board of directors.
A United Kingdom citizen, Yates previously worked for Microtek Medical Ltd. (1992-1994), before taking the initial role of sales specialist for Baxter Healthcare Corporation (1994-1997). He then rejoined Microtek Medical UK Ltd. in 1997, holding the post of national sales manager until 1999.
Yates later joined Vygon UK as business development manager and was promoted to UK sales manager in 2006. After that, he worked for Applied Medical UK Ltd. as its country sales manager until 2012. In November 2012, he became a consultant to Vygon USA before being appointed as interim vice president for this Vygon subsidiary in January 2013.

Vygon offers a variety of products in a number of clinical specialties including neonatology, adult and pediatric critical care, anesthesia, oncology, emergency, surgery and home care. The Ecouen, France-based firm distributes more than 200 million products a year in more than 100 countries through its network of 25 subsidiaries and 79 distributors. Its products are manufactured in eight factories in Europe, the United States and Colombia.
