Irvine, Calif.-based Pro-Dex Inc. has completed the acquisition of Fineline Molds, a company located in San Dimas, Calif. that manufactures plastic injection molding tools.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
"We are excited that Fineline Molds is joining the Pro-Dex family of companies," said Rick Van Kirk, president and CEO of Pro-Dex. "Fineline has an excellent reputation for quality and service and we look forward to continuing that tradition and helping grow the business. This transaction is part of our plan to grow the Pro-Dex business and return to profitability as quickly as possible."
Van Kirk recently was named CEO of the company.
Pro-Dex, with operations in California, Michigan and Oregon, specializes in the design, development and manufacture of powered rotary drive surgical and dental instruments used primarily in the orthopedic, spine, maxocranial facial and dental markets. Its OMS division designs and manufactures embedded motion control systems serving the medical, factory automation, semi-conductor and scientific research markets. The company also provides quality and regulatory consulting services, as well as engineering consulting and placement services through its Engineering Services Division.
