Medacys Medical Devices Ltd., a Shenzhen, China-based manufacturer of medical devices and components, and Gilero Biomedical LLC, a Durham, N.C.-based design and development firm specializing in single-use medical devices, have entered a strategic partnership.
The agreement, according to officials from both companies, will allow the two organizations to offer a full range of medical technology development services from concept through manufacturing—servicing startup, early stage and established medical device companies.
Through the partnership, the organizations will provide a coordinated, seamless transfer from the development phase of a project into manufacturing, thus eliminating the chance for miscommunication that often occurs between non-coordinated development and manufacturing teams.
"We have been looking for a development partner who shares our passion for this industry,” said Anura Welikala, CEO of Medacys. “Gilero and Medacys are a perfect fit, we are thrilled to announce this partnership and proud of the solid infrastructure we have built that is custom tailored to benefit the medical device industry.”
Ted Mosler, president and chief technology officer of Gilero, says the strategic partnership will provide “significant benefit” to the medical device community.
“Medacys is a strong manufacturing partner that allows us to leverage our design and development strengths into manufacturing. We’re excited by the depth of experience that Medacys brings to this partnership,” Mosler said.
Medacys is a custom manufacturer of medical and electronic components and devices. Founded in 2000, the company serves customers in Asia and the Americas.
