Watertown, Mass.-based AdvancedCath has opened its new 20,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in the Flexipark Free Trade Zone located in San Rafael, Costa Rica.
AdvancedCath Costa Rica will manufacture guidewires, advanced catheters components and complete balloon catheter solutions. In addition to its latest facility and its Watertown headquarters, AdvancedCath also has sites in Minneapolis, Minn., and San Jose, Calif. The new facility will be headed by General Manager Jorge Chaves.

AdvancedCath—formerly AdvancedCath Technologies, MP&E and TechDevice—designs, develops and manufactures highly engineered catheter and guidewire systems, related components and sub-assemblies including extrusions, balloons, coils, ground cores, and braided sheaths. The company works with medical device OEMs to develop and manufacture medical devices focused on complex interventional and endo-surgical procedures.
AdvancedCath is owned by Inverness Graham, a Philadelphia, Pa.-based private investment firm.
