The company, which provides metal fabrication services for the medical device industry, as named a new director of operations and a senior manufacturing engineer.
Brett Poole, the firm's new director of ops, has spent his career in manufacturing management and customer service. Prior to joining Pulse, Poole was general manager of Fusion Composites in Benicia, Calif., a manufacturer of aerospace composite materials and components. Previously, he was operations manager for CCS Composites in Benicia. In the weeks prior to joining the Pulse Systems management team, Poole was engaged as a consultant to the company, during which time he, according to the company, conducted a "very successful and rapid implementation" of the JobBOSS shop-floor control system. In his new role, he will be responsible for customer service, order administration, material management and production control. Poole received his Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Sciences from California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo.
Also joining Pulse Systems is Wen Ho, Ph.D., as senior manufacturing engineer for laser processing. Ho most recently has been teaching college physics at DeAnza College in Cupertino, Calif., and the College of New Jersey in Ewing Township, N.J. Previously she had been employed by Abbott Vascular in Santa Clara, Calif., where she was responsible for developing laser processing methods and equipment for stent manufacturing. A distinguished researcher, Ho was a member of the technical staff at Sarnoff Corporation in Princeton, N.J., developing advanced laser/optical instrumentation. Earlier in her career, she was employed for eight years by Resonetics of Nashua, N.H., where she helped establish their laser processing job shop capabilities. Ho earned her doctorate in solid-state physics from Northeastern University in Boston, Mass., and her B.S. in physics from Beijing Normal College in China.
