San Jose, Calif.-based NDS Surgical Imaging has introduced DomeAccess, a remote PACS (picture archiving and communication system) systems management software tool. The software allows clinicians using Dome diagnostic display workstations to access the system from anywhere in the world.
The software is accessible through any standard web browser., and provides a secure portal into the Dome Dashboard server installed in the hospital. Dome Dashboard collects and summarizes data into up-to-the-minute reports including display conformance, asset management, and operational performance status. Display parameters can be adjusted remotely, and performance alerts can be distributed via email, pager or cell phone.
“The DomeAccess software tool brings a new level of convenience, security, and confidence to today’s global imaging industry,” said Fred Parks CEO of NDS. “PACS administrators and radiology professionals now have complete freedom of movement, knowing they can securely access and manage their display systems remotely, with the same level of control they would have within the facility.”
The software offers a cloud data backup service via Amazon.com.
The Dome radiology devices feature non-reflective glass to prevent image interference. Each Dome display has a high-precision photometer in the center of the screen intended to give users more accurate and reliable calibration than edge-mounted sensors.
