STD Med. Inc. has purchased a 32,000-square-foot facility in West Bridgewater, Mass., to expand the company's cleanroom capacity, according to the firm. The amount has not been disclosed.
This facility, which is expected to open this summer, is in addition to the current 120,000-square-foot facility in Stoughton, Mass.
"We attribute this growth to the premise on which STD Med was founded 58 years ago by Primo Tallarida; hard work, the American Dream, and luck sure doesn't hurt," said Steven Tallarida, president.
STD Med anticipates an increase in its work force of close to 50 new jobs over the next three years, and additionally, the facility will house several innovative STD Med incubated start-up companies including Spirus Medical Inc. and Cardiosolutions Inc., as well as a new venture capital firm, Makaira Venture Partners.
STD Med develops, manufactures and assembles medical devices and precision machined components.
