Invendo Penetrates U.S. MarketPosted on March 14, 2013 @ 10:35 amGerman endoscopy technology company Invendo Medical has entered the U.S. market with the installation of its C20 colonoscopy systems at the New York University Langone Medical Center and New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center. Both are well-respected gastro intestinal endoscopy centers. The systems include the Invendoscope SC20 single-use colonoscope. The system is cleared for use in the United States by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
The Invendoscope SC20 works via a computer assisted (robotic) “gentle drive” technology, instead of being physically pushed or pulled. All endoscopic functions of the device are performed with a hand-held mechanism. According to Invendo, the device reduces pressure on the colon wall. Invendo’s U.S. headquarters are in New York, N.Y. The company focuses on the development of disposable endoscopy products in the field of gastroenterology. |
