Samsung Buys Medical Imaging CompanyPosted on January 31, 2013 @ 10:30 amSamsung’s American unit, Samsung Electronics America Inc., has completed the acquisition of NeuroLogica Corporation, a computed tomography (CT) company headquartered in Danvers, Mass. NeuroLogica develops medical imaging products and is known for its portable CT scanners such as BodyTom and CereTom. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Since its purchase of Medison—now Samsung Medison—in 2011, Samsung has been working towards establishing itself as a significant healthcare products company. According to Samsung’s website, it aims to join its display, semiconductor, and mobile businesses, and expand its business to diagnostic imaging and medical IT systems.
