Flambeau Hires New Business Development Chief for Medical UnitPosted on December 11, 2012 @ 01:44 pmGlynn is a graduate of the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities in Minneapolis. His previous work experience includes time spent at ICM Plastics, a Rogers, Minn.-based mold and plastics manufacturing company; Charlotte, N.C.-based Dynacast, a manufacturer of small die cast components; and McKechnie Plastic Components based in Easley, S.C., a thermoplastics and contract manufacturer. Since forming a year ago, Flambeau MMG has purchased a 16,000-square-foot building adjacent to the company’s two-building campus in Phoenix, Ariz. The building currently is being renovated to accommodate a 3,600-square-foot, class seven medical device assembly room. A separate class eight injection molding room will hold six all-electric molding presses. The company also recently attained its ISO 13485, the standard for medical device manufacturing and implementing recognized quality systems including radio frequency identification labeling, tracking, and traceability for internal controls to meet U.S. Food and Drug Administration standards. The Phoenix facility currently operates 32 injection molding presses ranging from 55 to 450 tons clamping force. Flambeau MMG serves the cardiovascular device, orthopedic device, respiratory care, fluid management, and packaging segments within the medical market. The Phoenix operation also provides mold/tooling design engineering and manufacturing services. |
