In the April issue of Medical Product Outsourcing, this column explained Chinese labeling requirements imposed by the SFDA and AQSIQ. To update you on this matter, it should be noted that, since then, numerous reports have been filed by the SFDA, AQSIQ and other agencies regarding findings that some imported products were inadequately labeled. For example, one well-known US-based company had its products returned home after inspection at the Chinese border revealed incorrect labeling.
You should also be aware that, besides SFDA and AQSIQ regulations, the Chinese Quality Law also is now mandating that all products sold in China must have Chinese labels with company names, addresses and contact information.
