For everyone in the medical device market, it is apparent that times are changing—and will continue to do so. After a few years of an open and free market economy, it is due for some tidying.
The uncertainty in pricing policies and new centralized purchasing programs has slowed down market growth in 2006. New national standards on equipment safety and aggressive vigilance programs will certainly add to medical device manufacturers’ costs.
All seem in agreement that 2006 has, indeed, been a tough year for everyone in the medical industry doing business in China.
