A major surgical device company recently partnered with Micro Medical Technologies Singapore to bring an exciting new device to market. One of the components required the use of a challenging, implantable grade material (CCM) and was originally envisioned as a stamped part requiring a secondary sharpening operation. The Development Group at Micro suggested the part be made using the company's state-of-the-art MIM process. Ultimately, this process yielded a finished component with an ultra sharp .005” radius tip requiring no secondary sharpening operation.
