Based in Frisco, Texas, OxySure produces technology in the respiratory space. The company has received approval from Agencia Nacional de Vigilancia Sanitaria (ANVISA) in Brazil, the country’s national health surveillance agency, to market its OxySure Model 615 oxygen powder technology in the country.
Model 615 is a portable emergency oxygen device that provides pure oxygen made from powder. Two inert powders are combined when the device is activated, creating pure oxygen. Because the powder is inert, it does not require storage space like compressed gas would. The system includes a high concentration, partial rebreathing oxygen mask with 7 foot long safety tubing. The system is intended for individual use, but can also be used by medical professionals.
OxySure has made sure it enters this emerging market, Brazil, armed with experts in local law so as to avoid any problems that could arise. The company has retained the law firm Horzepa Spiegel & Associates, PC to advise OxySure regarding the distribution of its products in Brazil and to assist in structuring and negotiating business opportunities in the Brazilian market. Associate Andrea Almeida, licensed in both Brazil and the United States, will serve as OxySure’s main counsel.
“As a native Brazilian with a full command of Portuguese and a good understanding of the market dynamics, Andrea is well suited to the task," said Julian Ross, CEO of OxySure. "This is a huge market for us, and we are excited about the opportunities there for our lifesaving products."
